Extra settings for the Fog Machine

The Fog Machine could be a great particle effect item, but its settings are currently kind of lacking. I think a few extra settings would help to make it more usable in many different contexts:

  • Model Visibility: For uses like natural fog or billowing smoke, it can be kind of difficult to try and hide the model sometimes, so it’d be nice if it could just be hidden instead.

  • Fog Color: The fog machine can only emit black fog, which only really fits with fire or industrial settings. Being able to make the fog white/gray would make it useful for chimney smoke, and maybe even clouds? Also you could make gender reveal parties or something

  • Fog Opacity: With Instant Fog on, the fog is kind of hard to see unless you raise the fog machine up, but with Instant Fog off, it has the opposite problem, where it becomes kind of difficult to see through, even if you turn the spawn rate down. It would be nice if this could be adjusted, so you can have the fog be relatively clear or completely impossible to see through depending on what you’re using it for.

  • Particle Size: This would help with adjusting particle density and how far the fog reaches. It’s already kind of possible to change this by scaling the fog machine, but that also affects the velocity if you have Instant Fog off.

  • Wind: Pushes fog particles in a certain direction as they’re launched forward, so it looks like they’re being moved by wind.

The fog machine is unusable in it’s current state imo. Floor fog is pretty much better in every way, but that needs color and opacity options too!

Floor Fog will have color next update.

I can look into adding more features to the fog machine.

Awesome! So many ideas… Red fog could be used to make Dark Souls bloodstains, purple or green could make a toxic swamp, black could be a mysterious abyss…
