Custom Profanity Filter

Okay, before you jump on me screaming “censorship!”
Hear me out.

While the Swear filter is nice and all. I think having a custom filter would be great for those are sensitive to some words. Or even a sentence such as “git rekt noob” something like that.

I got idea from a addon web browser “Advanced Profanity Filter”. But the suggestion is the lite version of it.

You could add a optional custom substitute word to go along with. Allowing people to replace a trigger filter word to something funny instead of the one is already use for swearing.
Like all swearing words would be “Meow!” for example.

Alright done. I’m ready for “This is a bad idea” replies. lol

Another option is using Steam’s Profanity filter. Though I’m not sure how easy or pain in the neck that is.

I feel like this is actually a great idea and I want to now set up a filter to replace all swear words with like, way worse swears

I also really like this idea over the current swear filter that the game has. The ability to customize it to your own preferences would be really nice.

It’d also let the player avoid some of the awkwardness of the current swear filter. I’ve seen a few normal words like “spiced” and “autistic” get caught by the current filter. I get why in both of those cases (the first one is a false positive for a slur, and the second one is often used as an insult) but it can get in the way of good-faith conversations. A customizable filter would help a lot with this.

I can’t remember what it was called, but there was a game in which all “bad words” were replaced with the word “bobba” - howver, this was about 20+ years ago.

that would be habbo hotel @Bear_Inmind
