Claw Machine for Arcade

One of those JUMBO ones, but less rigged?

Edit: I searched and understand this has been suggested before, but over a year ago, so I wanted to bring the idea back as the developers are now actually making the arcade.

Not a chance.

Maybe we could take the old-fashioned route and have a non-rigged machine with a somewhat weak, spinning claw.
That way it’d be more about angles and good grabs instead of luck alone.

I really like this idea but I feel like it’d have to be rigged in someway which I’m fine with. It’s all part of the real life frustration with these machines.

Only with newer models. Old claw machines only had claw strength settings, and the arcades had to set each one manually to be profitable. Payout chances/ guaranteed payouts after a set number of tries are still a relatively new concept.

This would be awesome. Though not sure how nicely it would play with the rest of the lobby, physics-wise.

Simples, client-side only physics.
Shows the operator of the machine the physics side while lobby/spectators only see a pile of generic prizes and the claw moving around in-sync with the operator’s.
Once a prize is plucked the claw will show said prize and that moment will be synced, so if the claw drops it. The prize will land back in the generic pile and vanish, but to the operator it’ll just drop back into the machine.
