Political discourse is important and good, but I don’t think Tower Unite is the place that’s going to truly advance anyone’s political views or understanding. If it honestly was the case that political discourse (when it happens) was reasonable and productive in-game then maybe this would be a different discussion. As it stands, it has always devolved into flame wars, trolling, abuse, etc. when we see it in lobby/global chat thus we don’t allow it. There’s also the fact that if we were to allow these kinds of topics and content, our own personal political biases could come into play for the moderation that still needs to happen, so for that reason too it’s simply not worth the effort.
At the end of the day, if you truly feel the need to discuss politics with other users, you can still do so in your personal condos. Especially in today’s political climate, a lot of people are already having these discussions frequently and are bombarded with often harshly opposing views, so being able to hop in the lobby, ballrace, or so on, is often a welcome moment of peace for a lot of people.
