Just what the title says. A displayed character counter and maybe something that blocks you from sending too large of a message but doesn’t delete your text.
edit: I guess I should say the reason I’m suggesting this is I think the current way the chat just deletes your text and gives you no warning you are approaching the limit is a bit frustrating after you type a long thought out message.
