Purchasing the Catzek Statuette from Kalarry’s Wares in game is normally locked behind the achievement “Virus: The Mysterious Obsidian Cats”. However if I view Kalarry’s Wares through Tower Express, the Catzek Statuette is available and successfully purchasable despite me not having the required achievement.
This instance in itself is somewhat inconsequential on it’s own, but I rarely use Tower Express and this may affect other items I’m unaware of and future items, allowing players to bypass requirements for some items.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Tower Express web page.
- Go to “Kalarry’s Wares” Store Tab.
- Add Catzek Statuette to cart and purchase.
- You will now have access to the item in your condo regardless of whether requirements to purchase are met.
What I expected to happen
Given that the item normally doesn’t allow you to purchase in game, unless you have the required achievement, I would have expected the item to not be visible in Tower Express listings. alternatively when it did say i could add it to cart, i was expecting an internal server check to check requirements and deny the purchase or something, but it went through.
What happened
I was able to purchase an item locked for me in game (Catzek Statuette), by purchasing it through Tower Express.
