I’ve never played Buzz! (the quiz show on the PlayStation), but I’ve seen Buzz! Quiz World on YouTube to see how large the game show was designed. My suggestion would be crazy if I can occasionly add options to…

  • Throw cream pies (if one player answered correctly, let you throw a pie at someone or yourself).
  • Dump in the pool of green smile (if you answered incorrectly, or the others go up one step if one player answered correctly)
  • Answer correctly to steal other player’s points.
  • The faster you answer, the more you’ll earn points.
  • A final round where you need to answer first to gain time to survive, or you’ll be eliminated.

And the list goes on in the original PS2/3 game.

I love Buzz Quiz TV, and I would love a gameworld like

The bomb - where you play hot potato with a bomb and can only pass the bomb by answering correctly.

High stakes - You bet points before the question is revealed

The critical part would be to make it feel like a TV studio game show. Audience, voice-acted TV host, and an option for narrated questions if possible.
