Black screen fade to hide the unfinished loading

Hey y’all, i have a small suggestion!

You know how some games do a thing where game loads and screen is all black until everything is loaded then black screen fades to normal? I think Tower Unite should have it to look more polished.

here’s a video to show you what I mean! thoughts? ^o^

OMG yes!
it’s simple but effective!

I really like this idea! I do feel like if the loading time takes too long though, some people may think something is wrong with the game when the screen is black for an extended period of time without any indication that it is loading. It might be fun to have some sort of “Welcome to the plaza” or “Tower Unite Casino” … etc. splash screen that shows up during that final moment depending on where you log in.

(At that point, though, would it just be considered two loading screens instead of a loading screen into a transition?)

omg wait. how about this?

Black screen could have one of these little corner loading animations you see in a lot of games? “Now loading” with dancing catsack or something tower unite related. (:

Also I agree; black screen does feel a bit too long; there’s always room for improvements on loading time, haha!

I’ve always wanted to polish this part of the game. It’s very tricky with Unreal engine, though! Unreal doesn’t really have good events for when you’re finished loading in a multiplayer environment, we could do it based on the level streaming in but there’s also all the other aspects that have to load in a well that don’t really have a good spot to tell us it’s done loading.

Regardless of the tech side of it, I do want to figure it out and also fix small load in weirdness like hearing thunder (it’s from dark voyage).
