Anniversary Event Suggestion Megathread

Before I joined the team, I would frequently make suggestion threads before events to try and squeeze in ideas for items / improvements. I’ve now been on the team for some time and thought I should revive that tradition for community suggestions!

To best get your idea across, try to follow the format below before going into any greater detail. Feel free to include any reference images or sketches to get your idea across!

  Short description of the item’s appearance and any functionality.

In order to kickstart this thread, here’s some of my ideas from previous years as examples:

• Catsack Traditional Paper Lantern (Furniture)
  A traditional Japanese paper lantern with goofy Catsack faces painted on, functions as a lamp.
• Confetti Machine (Furniture)
  A machine similar to the Bubble Machine, but blows confetti upwards which then drifts down slowly.
• Bubble Gun Mk.II (Hotbar)
  A souped-up upgrade to the Bubble Gun, capable of launching large bubbles with considerable speed. Bubbles do minimal (if any) damage but apply heavy knockback in a radius, similar to the Firework Launcher.
  –LMB shoots large bubbles at a moderate pace
  –RMB charges a bubble, allowing for stronger knockback power.
• Poseidon Cart (Hotbar)
  A vehicle that allows you to roll around the plaza with friends, possibly extending itself to accommodate more players sitting down.
• Tower Hat (Accessory)
  A hat resembling the Lobby’s tower, possibly with a face hole like the Milk Carton Hat.
• Crab-On-The-Head (Accessory)
  A crab has taken residence on the player’s head.

As stated at the top, I’d like for this to be a place where I can gather the community’s ideas for event items! If an item you suggest isn’t taken, I may still refer to this same thread (and bump it) each year.

• Slice of “Anniversary” cake item

Easter:

*Profile background: Pastel colors, Eggs, the catsack bunny

Valentines day:

• Profile background: Roses (red/pink), Catsack cupid, hearts (red/pink)

ST. Patrick’s Day:

*Profile background: Gold coins, Cauldron filled with coins with rainbow, Shamrock, Beers (reg/green)

*Red beard

• Shamrock Balloons

New Years:

• Profile background: Gold and silver confetti/balloons, Champagne, Fireworks (this could also be a generic celebrations banner)

Summer:

*Profile background: Beach (think volleyball, umbrellas, palm trees ect.) fish/dolphins/other sea life, a “Sun Shine Day” type of banner

Since we have proper skirt cloth physics with the default playermodel, how about a cape? This is a really basic proof of concept.

Here are my suggestions for Anniversary Event items:

Tower Model (Furniture)
A scale model of the Tower in plaza! Give it a built-in light to light it up, too.

Character Trophy (Furniture)
An amiibo-style figure trophy of Tower Unite NPC’s like Kalleira, Kalarry, Cornelius, Birb, etc. Each character could be its own item, or simply make them variants of the same item you can select via editing it.

Lobby 3 Commemorative Plate (Furniture)
Remember the plates of Lobby 1 and Lobby 2 you get for being a backer or legacy donor? This would be a plate in the same style, but displaying Lobby 3, our current plaza on it, along with its establishment date and some text on the back that talks about it!

Anniversary Catsack (Furniture)
It doesn’t have to open, but this could be a decorative catsack with a confetti effect around it (like the party crab). The catsack could be default in color or perhaps a fancier color-changing texture like the anniversary cake item. Maybe even give it sparklers! If it doesn’t open perhaps it could play a celebratory sound when interacting with it.

Catsack Disguise (Hotbar)
Similar to other items which change your model & animations (like the ghost or ZM creatures), this item would change the player into a catsack! You could then press a key to cycle through the various kinds of catsacks. Also, if you die while disguised, the catsack flattens and makes the sound as they do when you open them.

Throwable Catsack (Hotbar)
Basically a reskin of the ‘throwable plushy’ item, but for catsacks (maybe even dogbag). You could press a key to switch between different catsacks to throw at someone. The thrown catsacks make catsack sounds on impact.

Anniversary Toaster (Furniture)
This silly appliance dispenses bread from its toasting slots shaped like catsacks, or ordinary bread with the TU logo burned into it.

Anniversary Pop-Up Book (Furniture)
A children’s pop-up book which when interacted with opens, unfolding a paper Tower (or catsack, or other similarly themed thing).

TU Jukebox (Furniture)
A jukebox item which plays musical tracks from the game’s soundtrack. Could be made to play specific tracks or simply ones at random. Like the haunted piano item it would play music only within a set range. In essence this is a fancy, physical sound emitter.

Anniversary Streamer (Furniture)
This string item would be a TU-themed party streamer.

Kalleira Plush (Furniture)
A plushy of Kalleira! Additionally plushies of other TU characters/NPCs would also fit.

Plaza Fountain (Furniture)
A buyable replica of the fountain featured in TU’s Plaza.

Event Calendar: Home Edition (Furniture)
This item would replicate the calendar in Plaza which changes monthy to show the current month’s events! Basically a special canvas or display item with the calendar in it.

Catsack Rain (Accessory)
An equippable particle effect which rains down 2d sprites of different catsacks.

2D Potion

Would be really cool if Kalleira would sell you new interesting potions but only during the Anniversary.

Balloon Archway (Furniture)
An archway made out of balloons.

Carnival/Circus Tent (Furniture)
A traditional tent found at fairgrounds, such as this and the one seen in the Little Crusaders Knightened-By-Sea map.

Clown Horn (Hotbar)
Hold this item and honk away!

Ratchet Noisemaker (Hotbar)
When spun, it produces a clicking sound.

Tower Unite Themed Items (Toy Stop)

Kalleria Jack-in-the-Box (Furniture)
A classic toy featuring Tower Unite’s favorite feline! Upon interaction, the crank will turn, and soon Kalleria will emerge from the box to greet you!

Franky Themed Pull Toy (Furniture)
A pull toy based on Franky the dog. He is now a hot dog on wheels!

Sliding Catsacks Toy (Furniture)
Instead of penguins, catsacks hop up the stairs and slide their way back to the bottom.

Pop Up Pals (Furniture)
Based on the classic pop-up toy. Push a button or twist a key, and one of 4 familiar faces will pop up.

Oh damn I forgot I could ask for more clown items since they fit the celebration theme.

Catsack bean bag chair, and more catsack items in general

I’ve been on the fence about a Catsack Beanbag, while it makes sense for Anniversary… I also think it’d be good to redo the basic Catsack item pool to give Catsack themed furniture (to compliment the KitTV).

I’ve been on the fence about a Catsack Beanbag, while it makes sense for Anniversary… I also think it’d be good to redo the basic Catsack item pool to give Catsack themed furniture (to compliment the KitTV).

i’ve always been a huge fan of themed furniture series from Animal Crossing games so Catssack themed furniture set seemed like a great idea!! like we have valentines’ day (kind of!) and halloween set already

Anniversary:

*Photo stand-in item for condos (the art could be different bodies of store attendants in Tower)

• An action figure in box, but the figures would be of the different NPCs in tower or maybe some of the other versions of cats sacks we see in game (this could also have a variation with an open box, open and empty, and closed and empty box)

Valentines day:

• Cupid bow and arrow weapon

I am also hoping you would be open to having more holidays be recognized in game such as:

Dia De Los Muertos

• Sugar skull food item (could be a cooking recipe sugar + skull)
• Sugar Skull item
• Sugar Skull masks
• Square party banners
• Holiday style sombreros or hats
• Marigolds

Mardi Gras

• Masks and hats
• Beaded neckless (gold, green, purple)
• Flur De Lis

I think some sort of Jetpacks would be nice for the next anniversary event, so far all of the previous ones were either in stores, or Halloween exclusive. Maybe like:

• Party Jetpack - Leaves a trail of confetti and/or streamers.
• Cat-pack - Catsack themed Jetpack
• Piñata Wings - Pretty self explanatory, wings with a Piñata-like texture

Also, if possible, a Dogbag variant of the Pretty Catsack item?
