It’d be nice if the game got support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0 and DLSS 2.0 at some point. Personally I prefer FSR 2.0 since it seems to have less issues with the blurring things in motion, but offering both would also be nice.
It’d help a lot with the framerate! I’ve got a 3080 and an i7 9700k, and it still struggles a lot with this game, especially in the Arcade; I get maybe 50fps in there.
IIRC this requires an engine upgrade, which Sketch has stated that they’re looking into, but depending on how far up they decide to upgrade it might or might not be feasible (especially because engine upgrades can break a buttload of stuff, mainly Workshop).
As SirHazza mentioned, DLSS and FSR require 4.26 and 4.26.2 respectively.
The most recent patch notes (April 2023) mentioned:
Sketchman continued working on backend improvements. He also worked on getting Unreal Engine 4.21.2 ready for testing for a future engine migration, as well as making a new poster for the Plaza
Meaning even if we do get ported to Unreal 4.21.2, we’re still a bit behind to get access to FSR / DLSS. I feel like this is a pretty important feature however, seeming as the game can be a bit harder to run on certain systems and potential optimization issues. Fortunately my FPS has improved across the board with the new VRAM limit upped on my 4080.
Necro bump - I would like to replace TAA with FSR4 (or DLAA depending on your hardware). I’ve not kept up to date enough to know the current Unreal version being used.
I think the bar to the game using this is much lower, compared to when these were brand new technologies. This would assist those using Steam Deck and more modern but lower powered hardware to gain more performance, but also allow those on higher power hardware to gain better visual fidelity than TAA.
