Add a permanent crosshair.

I literally can’t play in First Person mode without a crosshair and not get sick after a while. It would help greatly if it wasn’t only attached to certain weapons.

The crosshair used to always show whether you had an item out or not, seems that was removed in the recent update

I do believe this is actually a bug. There was a permanent crosshair, but it seems to be gone whether or not you have it enabled in the hud settings.
