[1.0.2.0 Beta] Dedi bugs so far

Here’s a list of stuff I’ve noticed so far:

  1. Condo admins aren’t able to unlock/edit locked items.

  2. Workshop items’ collisions are broken, you just walk through them wonky like the visiting characters in Plaza.

  3. Custom media links are broken for clients (see 2 posts down) Screens with custom video files loaded on playlists will not play for people unless I (the admin) turn the screen on. The screen turns on for them, but then does nothing and says “no media in the queue” even though it has a playlist, almost identical to the other screen bug I reported. Screens with YT links loaded on them work fine. This issue is also WORSE than the other bug, as when the file completes, the screen completely resets and becomes unusable again.

  4. Media playlists aren’t editable, that might be part of the issue with #3. The were custom links, but I was media admin and still couldn’t.

Can confirm #3 is dedi specific, I tested on my in game condo just to make sure it wasn’t just beta branch issue, but screens work fine.

Additional info for Mac:

As far as #3 goes about the playlists… I removed my admin and did further testing.

It’s not about the playlists, it’s about the custom links. Dedi server flat out won’t acknowledge them when you’re a client. A screen with a custom play list will turn on and act as if it’s empty unless a condo admin turns it on, and a Physical Media Tape with a custom link on it throw on the screen will do nothing, the TV will think it’s an empty tape and not even bother to turn on for you.

So basically, remember when you first made it so Non-Media Admins could no longer add custom non-YouTube urls to screens, and it wound up affecting media tapes and playlists as well so you had to fix it so it didn’t apply to Physical Media & Preloaded Playlists? The Dedi servers are doing the same thing.

NOTE: The other Media Tape/Screen State bug I reported for normal condos does NOT seem to be present, as the tapes with YouTube links all work fine for people.

SPECULATION FOR MAC:

Alright man, so based on the fact the YT tapes work fine on beta, but that old ass bug where the “media admins only” rule applies to tapes and playlists is still present, I’ve got a really good feeling that the thing causing the current tape/screen issue I reported in normal condos is in code for the fix you did for that issue back then. The timing lines up, it was around the time I had you remove the ability to “Open URL” on custom links on screens, and you tacked on that extra “no custom links if you’re not media admin” thing, and it wound up breaking the playlists and media tapes, or maybe it was JUST the media tapes, it was a WHILE ago. Either way, I remember you removing the Open URL, then adding and fixing the media admin stuff, and that’s around the time people started complaining the Media Tapes weren’t working and I had to start “priming” non-playlist screens.

I believe you’re definitely right about the media player admin issue. I’ll make a fix.

Is it same fix that you did in normal condos back then? If so we can see if the other client bug now shows up on dedis, lol. Or did you figure that one out too?

If the dedis suffer the same bug affecting main branch currently, no one will be able to use media tapes or manual links in them.
