I have enabled steam input, and I use a custom control scheme layout through it.
In the non-beta game, I’ve had issues with it glitching a little before and mixing up the inputs. What I mean is that the non-beta version of the game occasionally tries to override the steam input settings, ie it tries to force the game’s new default control settings rather than the custom ones I have the controls set to. However, it only does this occasionally and it isn’t that big of a deal.
But now in the new condo beta update, I am finding that my custom controller layout doesn’t work AT ALL. The game is forcing the default control scheme and is acting as though steam input doesn’t exist whatsoever. I tried looking this up to see if it was a common problem with steam betas, but from what I can tell, this is an issue isolated to Tower Unite specifically. I’ve tried disabling and re-enabling steam input, but it still isn’t registering my custom controls any more at all. This has made it extremely difficult for me to play the beta, and has rendered condo-building in beta practically impossible for me.
There isn’t even the option to change the control scheme in-game either, so I have no idea what the inputs are to do anything even on default controls. As a result, I can’t play with controller in the beta! I almost exclusively play with controller, and controller support is also a vital thing for accessibility reasons as well, so it is very important to me that this gets fixed. Thank you for reading!
