When killbinding in the air in front of the Arcade’s left entrance, there is a chance that your ragdoll can get stuck in the ground, and the Plaza’s sky lighting breaks until you enter and exit the Arcade.
Steps to Reproduce
- Join a laggy, near-full Plaza server. (This is important; a player count of 55+ is recommended. Player count dropped after I recorded my reproduction and it became much harder to perform.)
- Walk to the tiled area in front of the Arcade’s left entrance.
- Jetpack into the air, and killbind on the way down.
- Upon hitting the ground, there is a chance the ragdoll may clip through either partially or fully, and there is a chance of the bug triggering from there. It’s not 100% consistent but it shouldn’t take too long to reproduce.

What I expected to happen
Even if the ragdoll clips through the ground due to lag, the lighting should remain unaffected.
What happened
The sky lighting instead glitched and turned dark, with the Plaza now being lit purely by environmental lighting instead.
Notes / Media
Although this is very clearly a bug, I do think the more lit-up areas of the Plaza look quite pretty (and even somewhat nostalgic for me in some cases, especially in the Boardwalk area) under this “midnight” lighting, mismatching skybox aside. I think it would be really nice if this look (or something close to it) was legitimized as an actual feature somehow - perhaps the sky lighting at night could vary in intensity with moon phases?
