[0.18.5.0] alt drag duplicating / copy does not work on linux

Summary

on windows you can hold alt while clicking the axis movers in your condo and it will duplicate the selection and start moving the new selection. on linux, it doesnt.

Steps to Reproduce

select something in your condo
hold alt
drag to move the item

What I expected to happen

the selection to be duplicated and be dragged with my cursor

What happened

it didnt dupe the selection, but it also didnt move the original selection

Notes / Media

happened on linux mint 22 cinnamon v6.2.9 unsure if it happens in other versions

I am on Linux Mint 21.3 with Cinnamon 6.0.4.
I cannot reproduce this problem. Alt + click drag duplicates properly for me.

I have curiousity as to why you suspect it’s tied to linux. Are you dual booting?

i am dualbooting yes, works fine when i play on windows, wont work on linux, not sure what other difference there would be for causing this, the only thing that has changed is my os

ive found the issue, dont believe its something that can be fixed by the devs

by default, system settings -> windows -> behavior -> special key to move and resize windows is set to alt. changing this setting to disabled makes duplication work as intended. i found this setting some time after making my last reply as it was causing issues in another game, didnt think to check this issue until now
