[0.18.0.0]Mini golf SDK: Moving drums loose bouce power when playing an uploaded map and are not the host

Hi,

At the end of this thread > [0.18.0.0] Mini golf map editor - #5 by cogvos < I mention that launchers (cannons, drums, geysers etc) do not appear to behave consistently between testing a hole by interacting (default β€˜e’) with the start pad, and testing via the tab menu. In essence they are weaker when testing via the start pad and so the ball will drop short of the marked position.

I have since found there is also an issue with moving drums when playing an uploaded map but not as the host. I’ve split this from the other thread I made on 1x1 pieces as I think they are unrelated? It may be that all launchers, moving or not, have the same issue however I have been unable to test this.

It appears that drums have a lower bounce power when you are playing a course and are not the host, in the same way as they do when testing the hole by interacting with the start pad. Could it be possible that this is due to some kind of requester/server issue? The drums behave as expected when you host an uploaded game and when you test a game locally by using the tab menu. In each case I am guessing that your local game is running a server for the map.

However the drums loose power and the ball drops short of the marked position if you play an uploaded map and are not the host, or test the hole using the start pad interact. Could it be that now the game is not running a server as; when testing via the start pad you are in the editor, and when playing without hosting the server is on the host’s PC? Sorry a rather long post.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Build a hole with a drum and set the position to land in a round flag hole.

  2. Test the hole using the start pad β€˜e’ interact. When the ball hits the drum it will fall short of the marked position

  3. Test the course via the tab menu. The ball will land at the marked position.

  4. Now the tricky part. Upload a full 9 hole course with the above simple hole to the host servers. Or simulate this somehow?

  5. Play the course as host. When the ball hits the drum it will land at the marked position.

  6. Play the course with someone else as host. The ball will land short of the marked position.

Sadly I have only been able to test this issue once with someone else hosting as other issues (see 1x1 mini golf part thread) meant I had to pull the map from the workshop.

What I expected to happen

Launchers to behave consistently and for the ball to land at the marked position no matter how the hole is played.

What happened

It is currently difficult to test holes with launchers and may be impossible to play them as anyone other than the host.
