When I or any of the people I know play close Tower Unite, steam still registers it as closed and we have to manually close it through steams stop button or task manager. With that being said, it does not show on the taskbar on the bottom. This does not happen every time though.

This occurs due to the media player and is something we are investigating.

I also experience this issue, media will continue to run from you tube in the background. The game is now forgetting to sever the media connection when leaving the page. It doesn’t discriminate on locals either. It happens everywhere in the game, For me, i have to open my tasks running window to properly shut down Tower or else it will remain in active status until doing so, and Tower cannot be restarted until this has been done.
