The FPS counter is permanently on. The FPS counter button in the menu shows that it is set to “off.” Clicking the button and switching it to “On” makes the main menu (or any other menu that may pop us such as the lure menu for the fishing rod) unresponsive to the mouse. From my testing, this does not occur on the launch screen, only when in the plaza.

Join a Plaza server. -
Open up the menu. -
Go to settings. -
Click on graphics. -
Scroll down to TOOLS/INFO -
Click on “Display FPS” -
The menu should no longer be responsive to the mouse
What I expected to happen
Click the “Display FPS” setting should toggle the FPS counter from off to on and vice-versa.
What happened
Two issues:
- The FPS counter is on despite having it set to off in the settings.
- When clicking the FPS counter setting while in-game, the menu will no longer respond to your mouse.

Have not tried it while playing a minigame such as virus, only in the launch screen and the Plaza.
