When building a ‘bigger’ condo, just about any object that produces light will fade out and cut off for guests in significantly shorter distance than for the host, making it extremely difficult & annoying to create consistent visuals of a larger scale.
Steps to Reproduce
-Use a light producing item such as a lamp.
-Have a connecting player in a condo you’re hosting notice that distant elements that are supposed to be lit up are pitch black
What I expected to happen
Consistent visibility of lighting elements for guests as the host would see.
What happened
Lights and their respective object that emits them disappear for guests
Notes / Media
This has been an annoyance for a long time, but it’s now integral to a new condo build of mine that uses very strong lights to light up big trees in the dark.
If I had to estimate, this area is roughly the size of the main area of the plaza that’s surrounded by the casino, arcade, tower, and ports
In this instance, I have floating islands surround by very bright trees that are lit up and colored by “small round lights” (the strongest source in the game atm) and they remain visible and lit to me almost until I reach the edge of the enormous 200x canvas dome I set up. This is great.
However, my friends can’t even see the lights on the trees from a tree on the opposing side. This is about 4 or 5 times shorter.
I also have a looping circuit of jump pads hidden within mushrooms that bounce you from to each island, and the mushrooms also disappear for the connected players, being light emitting items themselves.
I’m not certain if this is one of those “networking inconsistencies” but I assume it’s not for optimization since the host can see that far. I would greatly appreciate if guests had the same range as the host.
