I’ve decided not to file this as a bug report since it isn’t really a bug, but more of a performance issue on all players aside from the host.
I’ve noticed that matches with few players will tend to perform better than matches with many players (it’s a max of 10).
This is a problem even with hosts that have very stable and fast connections.
I can understand this is normal but for it to have the effect it does is pretty bad. A client’s ping can double just by adding some extra players, making the game almost unplayable in some cases, whereas with 2 players the game would perform normally without (or with little) issues.
Is there any way this can be optimized? Accelerate is probably the most demanding title in this aspect when it comes to latency (ping).
