When playing Grand Quest, if you slay the dragon and still have at least one Action left, you will perform it with the dragon at 0HP and get another Jackpot.
Steps to reproduce
Play Grand Quest and get the Dragon down to 5-10HP
Get a spin with 2 or 3 Actions on the Payline
Execute Action(s) until the Dragon is dead, but leaving at least one Action left to execute
Execute the remaining Action(s)
What I expected to happen
The Jackpot should get randomized AND the HP of the Cat and Dragon should reset back to 75 and 100 respectively.
What happened
The Jackpot is randomized, but the Cat and Dragon’s HP remains the same. The end result is a Dragon at 0HP and will die upon the next Action, even if that Action is a Trip, thus giving you the Jackpot yet again with little to no effort. The payout for the second jackpot is generally around 1500-3000 Units, as the randomized jackpot is usually between 100-200 Credits.
When I re-watched the footage of myself winning a second jackpot from an instant replay, I saw that the AGC gave me the initial jackpot, gave me the second jackpot then immediately took it back, thus meaning my total money was not increased. However, it DID seem to increase my New Best.
To me this means it probably isn’t as much of a high priority thing for the dev team and even has explicit code in there to work around this case, but just not fully. I wonder if it’s one of those “We need to get this out now, and trying to fix it the right way will take too long, so let’s circle back to it later” things that hasn’t been circled back to.
Update 2 This apparently isn’t ALWAYS true. I just got a double jackpot and I got to keep the money.
Update 3
This was apparently an exception to the rule. I get the money, and increase my all time winnings.
