bhop funny in pvp plaza gamemodes (not good)
Steps to Reproduce
Bunnyhop while in the snowball/chainsaw minigame, or laser tag, to achieve pure speed
What I expected to happen
Should behave like little crusaders in which bunnyhopping is completely disabled
What happened
People (@melonplex) was able to go too fast in laser tag as a result of uncapped bunnyhopping and I couldn’t click on him.

Why should it be disabled? It’s a tricky move that you can practice.
I’m pretty sure it’s already going to be disabled in SDNL considering its not in LC anymore
i’d be willing to trade bhopping in plaza minigames if we got it back in LC >:]

LC has limited sprint instead.
LC always had limited sprint, it also used to have bhopping but was disabled bc too op
mac’s said on the discord that SDNL will have bhopping
Idk how you can class going around in circles at stupid speeds skill
Literally makes snowball fight one of the most challenging gamemodes to enjoy when you’re faced against it
I did it in lobby, all it took was a couple rebinds and strafing and I’m hitting stupid speeds, its not fun

I disagree, hitting stupid speeds it is the sole reason that I find Snowball Battle to be the only fun minigame. I feel like if the whole minigame is forced to be slow, I’m gonna have no drive to play it.
Also-
Skill
dexterity or coordination especially in the execution of learned physical tasks
the ability, coming from one’s knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well
an ability to do an activity or job well, especially because you have practiced it
A developed talent or ability
I’d say starting the bhop, maintaining the speed, and avoiding getting hit while doing it would count as a learned ability that you’re able to execute consistently because of knowledge and practice of the action. Might as well just tell the people to shoot at the person bhopping- it’s not skill, you’re just clicking on them.

If you don’t enjoy Snowball battle because its slow, why play it? Not make it an absolute mess for people playing it, in fact, i think it was actually you who was in the lobby bhopping when several people were explaining their disappointment that it was actually going on in game
I should have cleared up what I said before, bhopping is a skill sure, but in games like this, when you can easily, easily, do it, its not really much of a skill.
If bhopping generally was considered a great skill, a lot of games wouldn’t be putting in measures to counteract it
If you’re going to make the game around a bhop mechanic, that’s great, but snowball battle isn’t a click on people exercise, it only becomes that when you pick up the launcher
It’ll be interesting how its implemented around SDNL, but if its another example of how it is in Snowball Battle, then tbh I’ll probably be avoiding it

I think bhopping would be fine if the acceleration had a cap to like, maybe 2x sprint speed in games? As it is you can just basically teleport around the map (assuming it’s still as fast or comparable to how it was when LC had bhopping) and people bhopping in TU games just kinda sucks the fun out of them for me. You shouldn’t just have the ability to go extremely fast imo (outside of just wandering around the plaza or a condo), especially in games like laser tag and snowball battle which are supposed to be slower paced.

Exactly this, it related back to OP saying because of “uncapped” bhopping, and that’s where my frustration comes from

E67you thinks that it may be tied to FPS and from what I’ve noticed that at least seems somewhat accurate. Higher FPS causes you to lose less speed- which wasn’t the case when it was added to Little Crusaders in 0.6.6.0. Before, as long as you were jumping at the right times, you’d just keep going until you stopped jumping. Since around 0.11.0.0 however, you lose speed way quicker, so I wouldn’t really say it’s comparable to going across Toy Room in 2 seconds, it’s a fair bit slower. Still faster than the regular walking speed that you’re locked to in Snowball Battle though.
damnnn thats unfortunate i dont like it when pvp gamemodes have bhopping
theres a reason its off by default on every modern source game in existence
