There is still a huge issue with creating a game lobby that can be joined and invited to. Also leaving a game lobby and trying to join another one still sends you back to the one you previously were in. I feel like this should be a priority bug but i have had no responses to my previous report.
Did this only just recently start happening? Because I’ve never once had a problem inviting people to my games, since i bought it in July '16. I haven’t tried hosting a game in a few months. If it’s been since the start for you, perhaps you need to forward some ports on your router.
