Very often, me and my friend want to inspect our finely detailed objects up close, yet we lack the ability to zoom.
As the title implies, give the player a key to zoom.
If you want to take it the extra mile, perhaps allow the player to scroll-wheel fwd/bwd while the zoom key is held to zoom in / out.
Make B the default key for zoom, and while in the zoom mode, scroll up and down to zoom in and out. Best way to do it.
One could go into third person and then click and hold the right mouse button to change the view, trouble is its fixated on your characters really creepy and ugly face.
