Is the catpack supposed to display the "Shocked Expression" for when you open it?

Just noticed that when i go into thirdperson my beautiful catpack is seemingly terrified for no reason.
Is this a random bug or is it intended?

The catpack switches between the normal and shocked expressions depending on how fast you’re moving. It sometimes bugs out though.
