I’m Inquire and I have no prior experiences with GMT or TU aside from hearing a streamer mention it briefly a few days ago. After looking it up, the whole project feels like it has potential and the dev team seems like they’re dedicated to fleshing out the experience. I’m on the fence on buying the game for a few reasons so I’ll ask the community if they can answer some of the concerns I have. If these questions are answered elsewhere, then I’d like a redirect to the thread if the information on them is still prevalent.
During prime hours, how active is the most populated east coast NA server/plaza? If that server isn’t an official dedicated server, how active are those typically?
Can the minigolf game be played alone? If so, do you still get the currency for items if it is played alone?
How many people come back whenever an update occurs and how long does the player boost stay?
Has the developers contacted streamers to showcase the game or are they wanting to develop the product more before going through that process? When trying to find videos of tower unite, I saw footage of Lirik playing the game 2x, but it felt like he stumbled upon the game himself or it could’ve been a sub suggested game.
At its most active hours, you may find one of the servers full (64 players), with people on other servers as well. Slower times may net you as low as 10 people on the most populated servers. People tend to stick to the official servers.
Minigolf can be played alone, and there is no Unit loss for doing so. Just click Minigolf on the main menu, create a server, and set the player count to 1.
That depends on how big the update is. Servers got really filled for the Casino update, there was a healthy surge for the Bowling update, and other minor updates tend to bring in smaller boosts. These boosts last anywhere from multiple weeks to only a couple days (or the next weekend).
I’m not sure, but I don’t think there has been a major effort dedicated to this. There was a bit at the announcement of TU, but nothing for EA release as far as I can tell. I think you are correct in assuming that they want to wait so they can showcase a more complete product.
