Hopefully, I’m not too late but here’s my suggestion for a winter item that has been in my mind for a while ever since I started playing this and when I came across friends and friend groups.
T-Express (Hotbar/Vehicle) : “All a-board the T-Express!“
A large toy train that is rideable. It can carry up to 12 (or 14) passengers than the usual other vehicles with ride limit of 2. Would also have a button where you can make the train blow out smoke (like the Witch broom item.
Also this train cartridges would also follow the main vehicle, like a snake.
(This was a condo or prop in plaza but would be cool to ride on this train)
This could either be for Toy shop or the Winter shop. Either way this is something we probably need since when you have a large group of friends you need something that can carry more than 2 of each.
this can also be customizable in colors but right now the basis is the colors of the train you saw in the toy shop.
I have not seen anyone have actually suggested this but figured maybe this should be a thing.
Omg, that train idea would rock my world. Could also just be a cart type for the mover train or you add seats to the original train and still have it be stationary (same function as the ferris wheel basically).
I second christmas cookies and gingerbread house stuff. Maybe more christmas food in general?
And more christmas tree styles.
And more christmas wreaths! I’m specifically thinking of the german ones with candles but that might be too niche
Snow Dusting/Powder (Furniture or Material?)
This snow dust/powder that’s all over the Plaza during Winter, please let me get them as a placeable object, material or something! I tried making my own to use with the Canvas Decal but I can’t get it to look remotely as nice as these..
Present Bows (Furniture)
GoopGoop already mentioned this but I’m gonna post it again anyway. I’d like if we could get separate versions of both bow types, but especially the more complicated kind that has a ton of pointed ribbons (the left one in the below image).
Santa’s throne (Furniture)
The kind you’d see at a mall or department store where you can meet Santa. I guess this could go alongside Xmarksit’s “vehicle” idea, just an actual furniture version of it.
Ornaments (Furniture)
The ornaments that are on the current Christmas trees as individual placeable objects. The string version of the ball ornaments exists, but we can’t place just a single ornament, and making just one of these snowflakes out of canvas would take like 30 different pieces.
Snow-covered Palm Trees (Furniture)
The ones from the Plaza, add them as an extra variation for the current palm tree? More snow-covered trees in general would be nice! We only have two options for that atm.
Skis, Snowboards, Ice Skates, Sleds (Vehicles)
These are all self-explanatory, but Ice Skates in particular would be pretty easy to add if you just re-use the Ice Potion effect and slap some skates on our character’s feet.
Also I love GoopGoop’s Sack on the Rack/Back idea, very clever and cute.
Quick comment on these two in particular: we are refraining from adding any items that are essentially placeable accessories because a mannequin / display system is planned but not being worked on actively. When it’s made it will be multiple items that support different ways of displaying accessories you own (full outfits, an individual floating item, a hat rack, etc) and potentially allow players to equip them temporarily.
For the powdery snow, that is actually a clever trick Johanna uses that can’t be replicated in Condos. Essentially anywhere you see that uneven snow distribution in game has a model with Vertex Colours, Johanna’s material then interprets those colours as varying levels of snow coverage! This is most prominently used in the Winter Plaza and Frostbite (and is why you’ll sometimes find spots in the plaza that are completely covered in snow instead of having the varying levels, like the area behind the Casino).

You can’t do Vertex Colouring in Condos obviously, and I doubt you can even do it in runtime. Even if you could do it in runtime, you’d have to paint canvases cubes with very low vertex resolution which would no doubt seriously bloat save files, load times, and hamper performance.
ooo that mannequin system sounds really nice, looking forward to it! Being able to “share” accessories in my condo by letting them temporarily equip them also sounds cool, if it happens I could see it being used alongside the upcoming currency system to basically have clothing stores. Maybe a way to save it so they get the accessories back whenever they re-join the condo too?
Shame about the snow powder, but understandable, it looks really good! Props to Johanna for making that. I’ll just have to stick with the crummy texture I made for decals instead.
Well what I meant was why it wasn’t possible in condos but fair enough I suppose. I was more inquiring to the technical aspects and limitations as to why that wasn’t possible.
Could we get a “Sack on your Shoulder” accessory that sits like how the current preview image is for “Sack on your Back”? Would also recommend changing the preview image for the latter to reflect its actual pose.
