Tacking on to this, I think it really didn’t help that there was no notification on the main menu saying to vote for the condo contest, which led to similar results of last year’s Winter Condo Contest—not a lot of entries and not nearly as many votes.
Personally, I didn’t enter the condo contest since I (correctly) predicted that the vote form wouldn’t be put in the main menu in favor of the Birb plush’s place. I’ve never seen more than one ad space be used in the Main Menu, so I assumed that it just wasn’t going to be possible during the voting period.
Considering last year’s Winter Condo Contest had a similar length in both submission time and voting time with not much else of a difference in posting for votes, I can’t say I’m ultimately surprised by the vote count not being too different. I just hope that next year these problems—at least on the voting side of things can be addressed.
