Windows 8.1 Compatible issues

I’m running on the latest version on Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit. (PC Specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cnBTxr)

Now every time I start the game it minimizes and when I click on it, it opens and minimizes again. I’ve had this issue with many games, even Unreal Tournament. The only way I can fix it is by adding: -FULLSCREEN to the launch options when I start the game.

My cousin which had Windows 7 has no problem with it. Opens the game and plays it.

Windows 8.1 is terrible at being compatible with games but If there is a fix so I don’t have to use -FULLSCREEN, please tell me.

-FULLSCREEN allows you to play in fullscreen (windowed) mode, which lags more.

I swear it’s gotta be my GPU then. It flickers black for 10 seconds every so often too. ;-; Thx, for the replies.
