What you see in the attached image is a device used for the production of small black holes. You see, the Catsack Mass Compactor (CMC) is a device that allows for the shrinking of a set of mass down to the point a black hole forms inside the core. First, the posterior section of the CMC unlatches and allows matter to be placed inside. Once the posterior section is sealed, both switches (black dots on the front anterior face) need to be activated at the same time by separate science officers (they second as fingerprint sensors). Once activated, the RF antennas (top left and top right when facing the front of the device) transmit a “STOP” code to all nearby vehicles and redirect away from the device. After roughly 12 hours of activation (time indicated by color of center LED below switches) the black hole will form, causing the device to implode within itself. This physical effect causes a large explosion of energy due to the infinitely strong forces applied to this single point, followed by the creation of aforementioned black hole. Before it implodes, alert beacons are deployed on the outer edges of the black hole alerting of the object.
We don’t know of any other way to dispose garbage at this point, we’ve colonized like every planet in the universe and we’re seriously turning out like WALL-E.
Oh, also worth mentioning, sometimes if the device is touched before the implosion it turns into a form of “Schrödinger’s Cat” (pun intended) that produces a random physical object and then implodes without the dramatic release of energy. We’re not exactly sure why this happens.
