It wouldn’t make that much strategic difference, really. The radar already has all the range the players could ever need, knowing at which end of the map that one lost infected is wouldn’t matter.
Wait, why is everyone talking about how it got improvements? Like, Weapon Prediction wasn’t too long ago.
Weapon prediction did help alot, but honestly the player sync, hit detection and overall weapon handling still doesn’t feel that great. Plus there’s still host advantages. I’m hoping this all eventually gets addressed but right now its not a priority.
Weapon prediction was over a year ago, April 2017 I think.
Yes, I know.
There’s a couple major changes I want to make to Virus to address certain issues.
Reliably networking other players colliding with each other isn’t particularly easy to fix, so one major change we’ve talked about is changing the way players infected others. Instead of touching, it would require one slash attack to cause infection. This would solve the networking as the slash is a single event that can be predicted over time, as opposed to what we have now.
We plan to have a semi-larger Virus update that addresses this. I have also considered having a “classic” mode for when this rolls out so players can decide to opt-out of the slash attack.
A bit more player feedback for tagging in Virus
Perhaps these modes that are suggested could be integrated in the upgrades store.
I remember you or another dev mentioning how you want ‘mutations’ to be sold that would modify the match for specific gameworlds. So ‘classic’ Virus could be sold there.
Why not there be a faint green dot that you can see through walls to see infected
Why were the Casino goals for 0.5.0.0 removed?
No endless poker or shared WOM jackpot? Dang!
Probably because they wanted to work on virus instead which i’m all for. But I was interested in trying out endless poker. Oh well
They were removed as they wouldn’t be completed by our internal content lock. We’re prepping the update for release and have to have a internal cut off so we can start to make builds and test without worrying about new features changing things we’ve already tested.
Those features will be introduced again in a future update, hopefully sooner than later.
did someone say… prepping for release.
WEEE WOOO WEEE WOOO

Good, someone cleaned up that spilled drink. Don’t need soda getting into the build and causing a bunch of bugs.
It was moved to Rob’s Imports.

going to assume 0.5.0.0 update is roughly 1-2 weeks ETA, closer to 2 weeks
In my opinion, I’d say longer.
