Tower Unite against GMOD Towers?

How do you believe Tower Unite will fair against Garry’s Mod Towers? And explain why you believe so.

I believe that Tower Unite will begin with a very slow and rough build up as many of the players are awaiting new content and there doesn’t seem to be many players being collected from popular YouTubers. If PixelTail are able to keep a steady stream of new content and actively show passionate progress and development, enough to gain the attention of people like Yogscast who I remember fondly bringing my attention to Gmod Towers, I believe the game can run out of that rough patch and become a cult hit if not a big one.

first of all, anything is now possible with the better engine

TU could easily get way more players when ever the popular gamemodes are released. (ie. SDNL and Casino)

I’m of the opinion that the game will be the next ‘big thing’ as it’s the kind of games that Youtubers would play and their fanbases would appreciate. Also, IIRC the game is literally revolutionary, as there was only one game with similar concept: PlayStation Home.

It’s gonna be a long ride though, 'cause the game is still in Early Access.

I believe that having a small fanbase during early access is a good thing. This way the game won’t receive so much exposure and criticism for its lack of expected features.
But yeah TU is way easier to install than GMT which makes it more accessible.

GMTower content wasn’t really hard to install though? You just needed an external program to do so, if you didn’t wanna go the workshop way (I personally disliked the workshop way cause modifying the content was a pain).

It’s too complicated for a lot of people. Some think it’s enough having to install a game through Steam.

Well actually there was a lot of issues with it. First of all, you had to own garrys mod which many didn’t. Then once you downloaded that you’d then realise you’d actually need to install other games on top of that. I even knew people who had all the recommended games yet still had missing textures. This is just much simpler

In the long run, TU is going to be the best for many reasons, mainly being: things that were impossible to do in GMT, and so much more are now completely possible in TU. Secondly, you don’t need to get at least 3 games to have all the content for this, just a one time purchase and you’re good.

Some people I know think it’s complicated enough to install Steam itself…

I’m always impressed when people like that manage to install Windows. Do they just take it in to geek squad to install all the drivers and things or what? I couldn’t imagine what life would be like not knowing how to install programs.

They buy pre built pcs. You know. The over expensive piles of junk filed with addware

Some people don’t care about how it works. Some of us here might think in the same way in other areas of life. For example some of us might not care about how food is cooked or how electricity and water are supplied to you.
Those who don’t know how to use their computers in the way we do simply want it to work.

I don’t support this way of thinking but it is present everywhere sadly.
