Render device lost.

Hey guys I have the RTX 2080 and I’ve been having problems with this game with some artifacts and crashing. Any help would be appreciated. I’ve tried DDU and doing fresh installs of the drivers… I’ve tried downgrading to different versions of the driver too. I’ve tried every setting in the nvidia control panel I could think of. I don’t have this problem with my other games so I’m assuming it might be just Towers Unite and I don’t need to RMA this card.

Do you happen to have any other Unreal 4 games to test out?

Here are a couple of the errors I’m getting. I have Killing Floor 2 which is on unreal engine and it works beautifully.

Let me know macdguy if I can provide crash logs… specs… you name it. I’ll try anything

Unfortunately that crash isn’t something I can parse, it’s deep within the rendering engine.

Killing Floor 2 is Unreal Engine 3. You’d have to test with a game that is Unreal Engine 4 (ARK, PubG, Fortnite). I’ve looked it up and theres a couple people with the same card saying the editor doesn’t load and it’s a driver issue NVidia has to solve. I don’t have the card to test, unfortunately.

I do have ARK. I could download it later and test it out and see if the same thing happens. So you think I should hold of RMAing it and hope nvidia fixes it?

I’d try ARK first then go from there. I’ll keep researching and see if I can find anything else.

Not sure about the 2080 but I have a 2080ti and it plays fine. Have been having issues with some other games, though. Not so sure about these 20 series cards. Debating rmaing mine as well.

Dude I’m with you there. I’m thinking of sending the system to Lenovo and telling them to switch out witha 1080 TI

Just to update everyone. After hours and hours of playing with it I still haven’t been able to find a solution to fixing it. Its even gotten worse and I can’t play other games nows. I got on the phone with Lenovo tech support and they are sending a technician out to my house to replace the card for me. They came to the conclusion that the card is failing… and rapidly… So if you are having problems with your RTX cards… you might as well just RMA that sucker. Ain’t worth your time.

Good to know. Sorry about the hassle. I’ve been really happy with my 1080 TI, nice to know the 2080 isn’t very good.
