Post Workshop

Hey everyone, just wanted to give you an update on what’s been going on since the 0.6.0.0 (and 0.6.0.1) Workshop updates.

Over the weekend we’ve seen an uptick in active player counts, peaking at 590 players. On top of that, you have all submitted over 1,252 workshop items (379 player models, 881 items)!!

We’re so happy to see that kind of positive reaction to the update and we’re working around the clock to bring you more updates for Workshop creators and to provide various improvements and fixes to bug reports we’ve been receiving.

Thank you for everyone who reported the crashes as we were able to get rid of the majority of new crashes that came up with the Workshop update. Please continue to send your crash dumps on our forums so we can address them as soon as possible.

For Workshop Creators

We’ve been getting lots of feedback and troubleshooting help in our Discord. If you’re creating Workshop models, we welcome you come in and chat with others and help each other out, as well as show off your creations on our Discord: https://discord.gg/pixeltail

Also, we have updated our SDK documentation with various information on common issues when making workshop models, which you can find here: https://www.towerunite.com/sdk/troubleshooting

One of our artists, Joshua, has made two video tutorials that cover how to create Workshop Static Props and Workshop Player Models. These videos go in-depth and cover common issues you may have when making workshop addons for Tower Unite. We hope they will be useful.

We also want to put a spotlight on a community-made guide that goes into detail on how to create workshop player models. You can see this useful guide here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1524367283

In the update we are currently working on (0.6.1.0), we’re adding a couple more settings to help with player model creation. We are adding shoulder width adjustment that helps with player models whose arms are sitting inside the model’s bodies (for large, or more round models). And we are also working on adding toon shading to allow for more cartoon styled player models (which hopefully will be in 0.6.1.0).

Next Update

We’re working hard on getting the next update out, which should be out this week, which will include improvements for Workshop browsing/blocking and the ability to adjust the volume of your game when it is not focused.

The update will also include various bug fixes. You can read and track the changes here: https://trello.com/c/XdU2CkwB/374-update-0610

Future updates will continue to roll out.

Store Sale

Our game is currently still on sale until the 4th, so you still have time to grab a copy for your friends before the sale ends.
