I would do anything for new music in this game, and I’m already very happy with what I have heard for SDNL, but I feel like this gamemode would benefit from not having music linked to maps. In games like Minigolf or Ball Race for example, the music helps tie together the overall atmosphere or general feel of the map. Not to say that the music for SDNL does not do that, but I feel like the gamemode would benefit from having cycling music similarly to Little Crusaders and Virus. Especially if in the future when game modifiers or mutators are added alongside the feature to customize the amount of rounds or potentially the types of modes in a match, the music may get a little stale. With multiple rounds in a game, the music changing per round instead of being tied to a map would be neat, at least to me.
i think a neat possible way to integrate such a feature while saving some effort could be to have more of the song come through as the rounds progress, starting with a bit of a stripped back version of the song at the start, and by the end the whole song and lyrics and everything come out like a metal gear rising boss fight
That could be kind of Cool i Think idk
That could definitely be neat, but then I’m unsure if the beginning rounds would feel not as energetic with less of the song being played. Plus this would probably be a real pain to set up if players are allowed to choose a certain amount of rounds to play per game (which I hope this is planned). If for some reason someone wanted to do upwards of something like 10 rounds per game, the early rounds would probably have some very lifeless versions of the song. Neat idea though
