Item Workshop?

How will the item workshop work? (if its even confirmed, i can’t remember ) i would like to know because if you can just make your own items and add them to your game then why would you ever need to use Units or ingame items?

The current plan is to make workshop items work like the canvas item does, but with 3D models.

So, like, you’d buy some sort of blank slate item and then apply the model to it (like you’d apply an image to a canvas)? If so, that sounds like a pretty good idea.
