A user named Pancakes11 said the following in game today, referring to the dog purchasable during the Halloween 2019 event, “I wish the dog you can buy in the Halloween store could occasionally find gold coins as a reward for spending so much on it. It is a dog after all so it could dig the coins up. Sadly it doesn’t.”
This is a FANTASTIC idea!
And building on that idea, I think it would be cool if pets could help players find items all year round. For example, during the Easter event pet could help players find eggs, or during a non-holiday/no event the pet could help players find buried treasure.
A level system would be cool too. Players could even play fetch with their pet and it could find random items, leveling up with each successful retrieval. The higher the level the pet, the better the items it could find.
