If I were to ask you to think of a metroidvania but gave the criteria that it had to be an indie game, [Axiom Verge](https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/product/axiom-verge/home) might come to mind. 94% of Steam reviews give it the thumbs up, so I think it’s safe to say that this one’s well made. It’s also free courtesy of Epic Games, so grab it before the 21st to register it to your Epic Games account.
