Weekly Dev Log for April 27th, 2018
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Weekly Dev Log for the week of April 27th, 2018. If you haven’t heard, we’ve recently retired our old Daily Dev Log in favor of the Weekly Dev Log, which will allow us to give a broader picture and explain things in plain English, while also including some photos from development. Without further ado, let’s get started.
Systems
Gib System
@macdguy worked this week on a Gib System, which will be used in Zombie Massacre, but can potentially be used in other places.

Decal System
Work began this week on a decal system, which will be used to display blood splatter effects on the environment. A custom system is needed as the one that is shipped with Unreal has issues.

Playtests
Several internal playtests were conducted this week to help look for bugs and to help balance out the game.

@Lifeless continued working this week on the Gasoline map.
Art
Zombie Model
@Wergulz continued working on the Zombie Model, sculpting nails, pores/wrinkles. Once the additional details were done, he started polypainting the Zombie Model.
Grenade Launcher
@Matt worked this week baking the Grenade Launcher, which’ll be used in Zombie Massacre and Slaughterday Night Live.

Sounds / Music
@Will continued working on sounds, creating sounds for the Spas Shotgun, noises for the sledgehammer banging into flesh, and sounds for the laser rifle.

Chris finished working on the M1 Garand for Slaughterday Night Live, finishing the textures and materials.

Condo Polishing: House Condo
@Johanna has been polishing up the House Condo, this week. This week she overhauled the lighting, and upgraded the surroundings into a mountain town, with the foliage and rock work visuals being upgraded.

@Madmijk continued his work this week on the stone fountain items. Additionally, @JJosh continued adding new items this week, adding 23 new items. The new items include a Canvas Blade Flag, Canvas Glass Billboard, Canvas Hanging Sign, Canvas Wall Sign, Locker, Twin Cabinet Items, Wall Clock, Contemporary Lighting, Statue Light, Wood Display Cabinet, Modern Dresser, Radiator, Old Wood Round Table, Old Wood Table 2, Old Wood Shelf, Store Display Shelf, Store Display Shelf Piece, Cheap Bunkbeds, Stone Pedestal, Round Glass Pedestal, Round Wood Pedestal, Beer Glass, and a Chandelier.

Weapon Animations
@krionikal continued working on weapon animations, this week focusing on the Pulse Rifle.
GMT to TU Transfer System
@Caboose700 reworked the GMT to TU Transfer system, as the old system was starting to fail. The system should now be more reliable and less prone to issues.
