Tower Unite Dedicated Server Setup!

Anyone else having this issue with the new server update? I’m trying to install it but only 3 files actually download and then it says complete. https://i.gyazo.com/c656bd0f8cd2eb22272308892883adc0.png

Found out SteamCMD doesn’t like Centos 5. So I had to install 7.

Happens to me on The same version of ubuntu on both servers so I dunno.

The server launches fine with that error that the guys before me mentioned, but when someone trys to join this happens and you get connection lost on your game - what am I doing wrong?

Debian 8 64-bit

all necessary ports forwared? firewall rules? high cpu load?

Is there a way to start a dedicated minigolf server?

Nope. Currently only lobby servers can be hosted through the dedicated server. Game servers are always hosted by the user with the lowest ping. I don’t like that and describe my suggestion right here: [Dedicated Server] Optionally hosting more “stuff” on the dedicated server

Is there currently a way to bind a specific IP to the server or is this planned for future development?

So, my server isn’t showing up in the list. I don’t know why. I’m running the server from the Steam GUI client, and I’ve forwarded the ports correctly. It’s got its custom name, and the settings are all configured, but it’s not showing up.

Server is currently really wanky. They are working on standard features like this. There is not even a proper documentation for setting one up at the moment. For the time of being you have to use iptables to block traffic on other interfaces (if you are using linux).

Sorry if this was already brought up. On the Linux server Is there a way to keep the name and max players set in DefaultGame.ini after updating? Right now I have to run my steam update script then re-edit Tower/Config/DefaultGame.ini each time. I was thinking about writing over the file using a script, but I thought maybe important items were being changed within the file and that’s why its re-downloading it.

Check out the the folder ‘Saved’. The ‘Game.ini’ in there will override settings from the DefaultGame.ini and should stay untouched by updates.

Hey thanks! You REALLY helped me out!

It looks like Game.ini is cleared when starting the server program. I also tried to edit TowerServer.ini, but it didn’t seem to take the settings into effect.
