Optimization Patch for Casino (Update 0.1.2.3)

Hello, you friendly TUrnips!

You wanted more bug fixes? We’ve got ‘em. Everyone’s been hard at work optimizing things around the Plaza.

Plaza/Casino Optimizations

  • Reduced ticks on various machines and activities
  • Made idle screens for machines while not in use
  • Reduced a few draw calls

Developer Note: These optimizations should see FPS increases for all users, especially those with lower end CPUs.

Changes

  • Video Poker now pays out twice as much
  • Wheel of Money now requires 5 credits to spin the wheel, just like Triple Diamonds
  • Video Blackjack now pays out 5 times the bet amount instead of 3 times

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed blocking players not removing chat text
  • Fixed Game World votemap not showing what map was chosen
  • Fixed issue where if no one votemaps for a Game World map, it wouldn’t select any map. It now roulette all maps of that game
  • Fixed issue where the Game World votemap roulette would stop on the wrong map icon
  • Fixed Spin to Win wheel becoming blurry for lower end machines or low settings
  • Fixed name tags not fading out properly

We’re actively investigating many issues, including:

  • FPS issues
  • Crashes

Please keep in mind that some issues are easier to solve than others and could take time to be resolved. We thank you for being patient while we work them out!

Do you mean you have to have your bet set to 5 credits, or when you get a spin you have to pay 5 credits to hit the spin button? I’m assuming the former since you said “just like Triple Diamonds”

So, no more constant 24 FPS in the lobby I guess? Yiiiiiiisss

My laptop went from ~15 fps on every resolution or setting to ~21 fps on every resolution or setting. Keep up fixing those fps issues! It has a core i7 3630QM so even some better CPU’s see improvement. However since the graphics or resolution settings barely change anything for the FPS I still think the CPU is the bottleneck here.

R.I.P. Wheel of Money.

Any word on when you guys are going to fix the constant disconnects? There’s not much of a point in playing slot machines if someone can steal your jackpot any time the server crashes (which happens a lot more than one might think).
