Macro solution

I believe utilization of the typing derby system could be beneficial in working against people who leave macros on all day in the casino. Every so often, or triggered by an admin command, it could ask everyone on a machine to type in a word from the typing derby dictionary, using the same format.

But what about the players who aren’t using macros? That would get pretty annoying for them.

Among many many hours of pressing the spacebar, I doubt they’d give a shit.

Also, I’m sure they’d appreciate it knowing that people trying to do what they do easily are be squandered by this technique.

Except I’m playing a game and not registering for a site that is giving me a captcha to verify i’m human.

That’s okay, because it’s not a bloody site. All it’s asking you to do is type 4 characters, which could easily be achieved within the length of one spin. There’s no reason to sneeze at this, unless of course you use macros.

Like I said, it could utilize typing derby mechanics meaning you don’t even need to touch your mouse.

You are aware they have larger words in the dictionary? and my point was that I’m playing a game and not entering a captcha?

I don’t really want to put more time into this so I’m just gonna say I think it’s a bad idea. :stuck_out_tongue:

OOOOO NO NOT 6 WORDS, GOD FORBID!!! And most of the time you won’t be, but it’ll fuck up the people using macros. It’s not like it’s gonna be every 30 seconds, more like 30-60 minutes. And okay pal, just because you can’t justify yourself any more.

I realised something that might be a bit better for this and I realise what you mean about fucking up people with macros. It could be instead of the typing derby pop up it could be a quick test the player wouldn’t know about and if the player enters a certain about on spaces in the time of the test they would be Banned for macro usage or something like that.

Could work, but often people set custom time sets for macros. You can either enter a set time (eg 7s) or they could input the time manually via real time recording, and setting it to loop.

Yeah possibly. I imagine the devs will figure something out for macro detection.

In terms of macro detection, it’s going to pretty difficult to get accurate/indefinite evidence against the user, as macros are almost never injected to the game. This way means they have to be present to fill out the word, and if they don’t, they can be kicked off the machine opening it to real players, and it’ll be clear if they were using a macro or just being AFK as they’ll be jumping or not every few seconds.

Actually it’s really easy to find people that are using macros, i can even teach you how to find them.

I may be anti cheating but an immediate ban seems a bit harsh to me. Especially since after hours of playing minigames to gain enough starter money, some people may have forgotten about the EULA part that they’ve surely read carefully telling them not to use automation tools, I think rejection from the machine with a fitting reminder popup at first would be a better “something like that”.

Alternatively, a CAPTCHA with every win. Feed the machine your units, get rejected for automation instead of winning.

Please do, but can you transfer this to an automated system?

I see a few ways to make it automated, but i dont have the programming knowledge required to make it, anyway ill get to writting you a small step by step guide on how to find macro users.

Well considering Macros are against the EULA pretty sure you get banned for it.

I think a solution to macros would be a confirmation screen to appear and ask the player if they were still there, aka, make them type a word.

I’m glad you agree. I chose this idea as typing derby is already made and it’ll take less time to implement in this environment, while hitting a level of efficiency. Nobody AFK while using a macro can beat this, drastically bringing down the cheating.

People have different types of keyboards - forcing the end user to type in a sentence that doesn’t belong in their dictionary isn’t a good way to go about it.

Sentence? I’m just talking about 1 word.
