Daily Dev Log for September 30th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, September 30th, 2017.
@Zak fixed libraries for the central server chat not linking properly under the server's compiler environment, and fixed a macro redefinition error that was causing one of the 0.3.6.1 builds to fail.
@macdguy increased the speed of the blend of the crouch animations, and created code for the balloons to automatically remove themselves when a minigame ends. He spent most of the day working on the Inventory Portable Tools.
He worked on the Copycat Tool, which is a gun like tool that allows the quick copy and paste of items and/or their properties. Today he added support for all types of item properties so that it's not limited to just canvas and colors anymore, it gets lights and other stuff too, but it doesn't yet support laser projectors. He also started making the duplication of items work, creating a ghost of the item the player is duplicating. Lastly, he made the rotation setting work with ghosting so that the user can duplicate items with the exact same rotation as the item you are duplicating, or have it face towards the direction the player is facing.
Along with the Copycat Tool, he created a base inventory portable tool weapon base that all the tools can use. This includes neat features like tool name, tool description, displaying what action happened, and key toggles for quick settings on each tool. Lastly, he created a HUD for tool weapons that displays the name, description, and actions the tool is going to do.
@Foohy debugged the central chat server, setting it up with the database.
@Johanna continued working on the upcoming Minigolf map, Odyssey, focusing on the holographic solar system display and fixing some bugs that occurred when transitioning between planets.
@Caboose700 added some swap space to the Central Server for @Foohy, created test clients and servers for the 0.3.6.1 update, and tested some of the fixes in the 0.3.6.1 update.
That’s what everyone at PixelTail Games has been working on today! See you all tomorrow!
