Daily Dev Log for September 26th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, September 26th, 2017.
@Zak continued working on the Chatbox UI, creating some C++ data structures for the chat, and going over the design with @Foohy last night. He helped make some sounds for the Balloon Minigame, and helped @macdguy with some game coordinator. Lastly, he talked with @macdguy and @Caboose700 about specifics with the Minigame system.
@macdguy fixed reflections in the default condo's sand, and fixed some insane reflections on the Cauldron, Gravestone, and Grandfather clock. Along with those, he fixed player weapon hold types being off (they were pointing up always) with the new animation set that was introduced in 0.3.6.0.
He also continued working on the Plaza Events and Minigames. The payout system for minigames was finished, players receive payouts when you leave the minigame area or when the minigame ends. Scores are cleared when minigames start, and the minigames have been improved by defining game coordinators in the minigame manifest. Support was added for end of event chat and dialogue messages, a end of minigame event was created, and the minigame event handlers now remove properly. The end of minigame score chat messages for the minigames, that shows the top 3 players when a minigame ends, was also completed, and players are now sorted correctly. Code that handles the spawn delay was improved and balloon colors are now synced among players. Lastly, work has begun on the animation for transitioning the plaza fountain into the minigame area, and for extra points, golden balloons were added to Balloon Shoot.
@Lifeless continued working on the rail-based shooting gallery.
@Matt baked and textured the speedloader for the revolver model.
@MrSunabouzu continued working on art for Zombie Massacre.
@Madmijk continued working on a gameplay element for the upcoming Minigolf map, Odyssey, implementing a way to reliably replicate it.
@Johanna is out of town.
@Caboose700 continued setting up the Central Server, talked with @macdguy and @Zak about specifics pertaining to the minigame system, tested the system with @macdguy, and created test clients and servers for the upcoming 0.3.6.1 update.
@Wergulz started doing some research for Zombie Massacre. He finished a "zombie crawl" blockout, finished a "one zombie attack" blockout varient, and started a blockout of a second attack variant.
@donglekumquat took a break from making Zombie Massacre music, and worked on just Plaza music.
@Krionikal continued experimenting with art for Zombie Massacre, and started creating a reload animation for the Revolver.
@Deniz continued to profile the media player code to find performance issues, and converted the "AA quality" setting to use the new config system.
