Daily Dev Log for October 10th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, October 10th, 2017.
@Zak continued working on Global Chat. Today he fixed a crash where chat parser would substring out of range, throwing an exception. He also started work on a generator system for binding Slate widgets to parser commands. Aside from chat, he talked with @Deniz about various changes to our engine fork in preparation for upgrading the engine.
He also worked on the AGC backend, adding "tick" callback support, adding a instance manager, adding functions to get filtered instance lists by class, server or Machine ID, and created a simple event test that pings all instances on all servers every 5 seconds.
@macdguy continued working on Halloween, starting and finishing the Pumpkin Smash minigame, starting work on the next minigame, and finished up the spider, ghost, and pumpkin characters and implementing their dialogue. He also worked on the dialogue system, now making sure it properly closes when the entire sentence is finished instead of at a set time allowing for longer dialogue lines. A new spawner system that @Foohy made was implemented into the Minigame system, and he created a gib system for the pumpkins.
@Lifeless continued working on the rail-based shooting gallery.
@Matt handcrafted pumpkin gib models.
@Madmijk modeled some Halloween items.
@Johanna continued working on the texture for the new Sonic Shotgun, and continued working on a new Halloween version of the Plaza.
@Caboose700 continued adding dialogue to the Dialogue Manifest, helped test some Halloween related systems, and approved / rejected trivia questions.
@Wergulz discussed the Zombie Run animation with @macdguy, edited and fixed the Zombie Run animation (waiting for review), and continued working on the Zombie Crawl animation.
@Krionikal worked on art for Halloween.
@Deniz continued working on upgrading Tower Unite to the latest available Unreal Engine version.
