Daily Dev Log for June 7th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, June 7th, 2017.
@Zak discussed arcade machine designs with @macdguy and @Caboose700. He also worked with @macdguy to plan out how arcade machines will have input visualizations (moving joysticks and buttons). In addition, he proposed some networking schemes for low-latency arcade machine feedback.
@macdguy spent the day working on Laser Tag. This involved implementing Laser Tag to use the new game base system, as well as deciding on critical Laser Tag mechanics, and how certain gametypes work, in order to determine the overall flow of gameplay. He also implemented the point and lives system to Laser Tag, as well as adding the Laser Tag vest art to the players. To finish off with, he worked to make Laser Tag move players into the arena at the beginning of the game, and move them out when the game is finished.
@Foohy has been busy with school work and almost missed his final.
@Lifeless continued his work on the Containership map for SDNL. He continued his work on the Containership model itself, and looked into how to best arrange the containers on the ship for optimal gameplay.
@Matt finished the highpoly model of the M41A replacement weapon. He also created a separate magazine highpoly model, as well as the highpoly for the holographic sight.
@MrSunabouzu has been continuing work on substance materials for SDNL. Today he tackled the wall texture for the SDNL Hell level.
@Madmijk has been working on his Art Studio condo. Today he finished implementing the base fill lights, and completed the photo/video room.
@Johanna is out of town until June 10th in South Korea.
@Caboose700 finished merging the code base for the internal company system, and prepared to integrate the new feature to the secondary system. He also rebooted a couple Tower Unite dedicated servers that required attention. @macdguy and @Zak also had a conversation with him about how the Arcade will operate. Lastly, he finished the detailed write up of how the Salmon Says arcade machine will operate.
@Wergulz continued work on the “left” run cycle animations.
@donglekumquat is currently moving to Los Angeles.
That’s what everyone at PixelTail Games has been working on today! See you tomorrow!
