Daily Dev Log for June 13th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, June 13th, 2017.
We spent some time today gathering footage for the new Store Page trailers. Most of the staff participated in this activity.
@Zak added virtual destructors to all interfaces in the Arcade API, preventing an issue where derived classes wouldn’t call their destructors if they were deleted through their interfaces, causing memory leaks. He also started planning out a better system for managing texture loading and unloading. The current system is too rigid and doesn’t allow for clean reloading of packages.
@macdguy completely remade all countdown message UIs for Lobby Games. Now all games have animated countdowns (15 seconds left) that are more visually appealing. He also continued work on Laser Tag, fixing some HUD issues as well as implementing team introduction HUD elements. In addition, he added a slow motion effect for emphasis on the round ending, as well as disabling their weapons. Along with Laser Tag, he implemented some Lobby changes, such as disabling the crosshairs while playing a Lobby Game, and a new HUD effect for Typing Derby.
@Foohy has been busy with school work and finals.
@Lifeless continued work on the Containership map for SDNL. He continued modeling parts of the Containership itself, and placed some more foliage around the level.
@Matt recorded new footage for the Tower Unite steam store page. He also finished baking the model for the M41A replacement weapon, the Bullpup. Image
@MrSunabouzu has been continuing work on substance materials for SDNL. Today he tweaked some existing substance materials for the Hell level. He also started a gravel floor and skull wall texture. Along with this, he also started working on some fishing items.
@Madmijk was busy with an assignment for school.
@Johanna created collision models for both the Galaxy Police and the Salmon Says arcade machines. In addition, she created a high-poly model for the Galaxy Friends arcade machine.
@Caboose700 monitored Trivia games in the dedicated servers to ensure the Tower Unite 0.3.1.3 patch fixed the issues. He also monitored the core game systems during the Steam Maintenance. In addition, he completed the deletion sequence for, merged, and implemented the new feature for an internal company system.
@Wergulz finished work on the “backwards” run cycle animations.
@donglekumquat continued working on music for the Khromidro ball race level. He also finished a death sound for Laser Tag.
@Krionikal started working on some fishing items.
That’s what everyone at PixelTail Games has been working on today! See you tomorrow!
