Daily Dev Log for July 25th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, July 25th, 2017.
@Zak continued working on the global chat server. He also started migrating some projects over to a Linux development environment to work natively instead of compiling on Windows and then crossing his fingers in the hopes that it worked.
@macdguy started work on the Zombie Massacre game base. This work includes the first pass of gameplay states (preround, round, intermission, etc), the setup of the character for survivors, and the weapon inventory manager. Aside from Zombie Massacre, he fixed some animation issues with the new animation set and improved their state transitions. He also tested the hotfix, fixed the new hit indicator effects, and fixed the Laser Tag scoreboard not always showing up. He updated the Laser Tag HUD, improving the look of the energy HUD and made a better “eliminated” text effect. Lastly, he handled some internal company work.
@Foohy continued working on the shared player locations, working mainly on making it more net-optimized. He also started looking into issues with servers not showing up. He fixed the “joining server” dialog when joining a player through Steam, and is in the process of fixing some issues where lobby servers don’t show up for some people.
@Lifeless took most of the day off due to his CPU fan failing. However, he fixed the moving walls disappearing on low draw distance settings on Hole 15 in Alpine, and fixed a camping spot in Subway.
@Matt continued working on some things, and made a metal and wooden keg model.
@MrSunabouzu continued working on Fishing items, as well as doing some Zombie Massacre research.
@Madmijk continued creating models for his SDNL map.
@Johanna continued her work on the art for the Virus map, Solar.
@Caboose700 built production lighting on Sweet Tooth, and tested it with @Johanna. He also finished writing the documentation for the Moderation API, and began work on the web portion of it.
@Wergulz started working on the fishing animations, starting with the “cast” animation. He has put the crouch walks and swimming animations on hold to get these fishing animations done.
@donglekumquat made some sounds for the vault door item, and started researching for Zombie Massacre music.
@Krionikal started migrating the silenced handgun to the newer animation system. He also started creating a model for the player wisp, and replaced the watermelon model, affecting the Melon Pet and the Metal Melon.
That’s what everyone at PixelTail Games has been working on today! See you all tomorrow!
