Daily Dev Log for July 18th, 2017
Hey everyone! Here’s what everyone on the team has been working on over the course of today, July 18th, 2017.
@Zak finished the material and texture serialization on the model format for Steam Workshop.
@macdguy tested the latest build, aiming to get it out soon. He updated the odds of the gold catsacks, and removed the chance to get a silver catsack from the gold catsacks due to it feeling a bit cheap. He created the final patch notes along with the artwork. He also fixed a bug where you could shoot your weapon while holding an item, and fixed the potato gun projectiles colliding with your playermodel. He started reworking the Fishing rod gameplay, allowing any water volume to work, if it has a fishing volume in it. He also made a bunch of UI/Inventory fixes. These fixes included the crab model not being highlighted when hovering over it, fixing a bug with the player list rapidly opening, and fixing an issue with the inventory tooltips not being completely removed when the inventory is closed. He also improved the look of the Reward HUD effect, updated the UI so that “Not in Store” items sell at their full prices, and made it so that items that give currency now say “Open” instead of “Redeem”. He also fixed the inventory tooltips not showing up for non Condo hosts, and added the player name and avatars to inventory tooltips so that you know who owns what (when in someone’s condo). Lastly, he updated the icons for the new items, and created failure notifications on redeemable items.
@Foohy coded an IRC client from scratch in Unreal which ended up being discarded. He talked with @Caboose700 and @Zak even more about cross-server information and chat. He added a message to the Cosmic Catsack to explain why it doesn’t open yet, and fixed some issues with the item schema exporter.
@Lifeless started blocking out the Zombie Massacre map, Gasoline. He also made some adjustments to the Ball Race map, Khromidro.
@Matt continued working on Fishing items, and made a model for the wowozela.
@MrSunabouzu continued working on items for Fishing.
@Madmijk continued modeling his SDNL map.
@Johanna continued her work on the art for the Virus map, Solar.
@Caboose700 built production lighting for the Ball Race map, Khromidro, along with some other maps, monitored the servers during the steam maintenance, tested the 0.3.4.0 update, talked with @Foohy and @Zak about the central chat server, and approved / rejected trivia questions.
@Wergulz began working on swimming animations, specifically the “Idle” swim.
@donglekumquat continued work on the Virus foley sounds, and made crate and coin sounds for Treasure chests.
@Krionikal continued working on animations for the confetti gun.
That’s what everyone at PixelTail Games has been working on today! See you all tomorrow!
